Temono launches Industry Association Practice and announces Global mobile Suppliers Association as launch client

Agency to provide PR, webinar, social and content marketing support to major global telecoms body

Temono, the telecoms and technology PR and content marketing agency, today announced the launch of its Industry Associations Practice and that it has been appointed by the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) as its PR and marketing partner. The GSA, a not-for-profit industry organisation representing companies across the worldwide mobile ecosystem, works with over 150 organisations globally, including mobile operators, national regulators, analysts, and suppliers from across the 4G and 5G mobile industry. GSA reappointed Temono following a competitive agency review process, extending a five-year relationship.

Temono has also today announced the appointment of Richard White as head of its new Industry Associations Practice. The agency brings more than two decades of extensive experience in marketing communications for industry associations having worked with the Small Cell Forum, Wireless Broadband Alliance, Wireless IoT Forum and the LiMo Foundation. The agency works with its industry association clients as a virtual team, closely aligning PR and marketing programmes with in-house organisations.

“Temono combines considerable sector knowledge together with extensive experience in marketing for industry associations,” said Joe Barrett, President of the GSA. “Their team has helped us to raise the profile of the GSA, add new members and increase engagement with our existing membership through PR, content, and webinar and member events programmes and we are excited to be extending our relationship into 2024.”

GSA monitors and reports data tracking the latest advancements in the global mobile industry, including spectrum auctions and band availability, 4G and 5G public and private network deployments, device launches and the market status of technologies including VoNR, 5G RedCap and 5G carrier aggregation. Its global data is available to all employees of GSA Member and Associate organisations subscribing to the GAMBoD database, with free executive summary reports available via the GSA website. To date, there have been over 2 million downloads of GSA reports since its formation in 1998 and over 500,000 downloads since 2016.

Through its extensive work with industry association clients, Temono has developed a bespoke PR and marketing offer for membership-based organisations. The programmes encompass management of both owned and social channels, industry event partnerships and media relations. Member-engagement programmes include end-to-end webinar support, member newsletters and showcasing the work of topic-specific working groups through the membership network.

“Marketing for Industry Associations requires a distinct and unique combination of skills, including managing the needs of a large number of stakeholders, coordinating internal communications, and delivering campaigns that continue to engage existing members while expanding their number,” said Richard White, Practice Head and Managing Partner at Temono. “We’re delighted to be launching this practice today, built on the decade of experience we have in working with these organisations and look forward to supporting the GSA and other associations in 2024.”
